Lauren Smith

I am a Senior at Tennessee Technological University, where I am studying Sociology with a concentration in Social Work, as well as, minor in Psychology. I am set to graduate on May 5, 2023. I have been accepted into The University of Tennessee, Knoxville to complete my MSSW in Fall 2023. I strive to gain trust in our community and help protect those who are vulnerable.

I have had the pleasure of interning with Omni Visions INC. in 2021, where I was involved in educating those with past trauma on how to better their emotion management, relationships, parenting, etc.

​

I then had the opportunity of a second internship with White County Department of Children's Services in 2023, where I have also, previously, spent time as a shadow volunteer. I was able to shadow a Case Manager on referrals, assist in note taking while interviewing ACV's and Perpetrators, as well as, went to several court hearings. Towards the end of this internship, I accepted a position with the team I was interning with to begin in June! While doing this I also took on a position at Acorn Health, where I am a Registered Behavior Technician. In this position, I am responsible for implementing one on one ABA therapy to clients with Autistic disorders.

In my personal life, I love to run and be outdoors! I completed my first half marathon in October 2021. I am a dog momma to a 3 year old Golden Retriever named Rookie and recently just rescued a 1 year old Golden Retriever named Sunny. I was able to marry the love of my life in May 2022!
